Sunday 14th November proved to be a fresh November day, just perfect for a friendly meet-up of a group of 11-13-year-old Blackrock and Cabinteely athletes at the track in Shoreline. After warming up together, the athletes practiced sprint starts and then ran some 60m sprint heats and finals. With coaches also on long jump and block starts, there was plenty to practice. The athletes regrouped into relay teams of 4 running 200m as we start to prepare for the relay indoors in February. Unfortunately time constraints did not allow a relay final….next time.

The sprint medals went equally to Blackrock and Cabinteely, with a gold, silver and bronze to each club! Blackrock medals went to Aela, Alex and Matthew. Well done to all.
