At the Dublin City Marathon Expo in the R.D.S. Dave Hudson’s remarkable exhibition of Dublin Marathon Memorabilia included a lovely framed photo c/w: write-up in memory of former Blackrock A.C. Women’s Coach and lifelong club member Paddy Craddock, as Paddy Craddock was the oldest of an elite group of 29 athletes (one woman and twenty eight men) who participated in the first thirty Dublin City Marathons from 1980 to 2009 (inclusive).
Paddy Craddock’s grand-daughter Ciara McNamara participated in this year’s Dublin City Marathon (which was her 5th consecutive Dublin City Marathon) in memory of her grand-dad Paddy Craddock as he was a great inspiration to her and to so many people in athletics.
Also sincere appreciation to our many club members both past and present and their family members who came out in their droves and cheered on Blackrock A.C. marathon runners in many places around this year’s Dublin City Marathon course.
The weather was superb as it was exceptionally mild, dry and warm which was really appreciated by all the marathon runners, volunteers and supporters and there was a fantastic atmosphere at this year’s Dublin City Marathon.
