League 3 took place in Tymon Park on Sunday last and once again we had some strong performances as the younger squads took centre stage!!

Only the dedicated few turned out today in Tymon Park for the final of the league series of XC races. However, the Blackrock vest was represented at every age group with strong performances from Under 9 up to Under 14. Please see all performances below and many thanks to Val O’Brien for the race report:
Under 9: The Under 9 boys saw Andrew Schwer and Conor O’Brien in action. Andrew who was second on the league table after two XC events came 4th today and so is guaranteed a Dublin XC League Medal for his performances across all leagues. Well done Andrew in his first XC season for Blackrock AC. Conor also ran a great race finishing just outside the top 10.

Under 10: Reuben Marnell was representing the Under 10 group and had a great run to finish 5th. This performance should also guarantee Reuben a Dublin XC League Medal for his performances across all leagues. Well done Reuben who has been running with his arm in a cast!!

Under 11: The Under 11 girls  were out in force. Holly O’Brien, Olivia Gaughran and Rachel O’Brien. Holly who was in 5th place on the league table after two XC events came 2nd today and so is guaranteed a Dublin XC League Medal for her performances across all leagues. This is Holly’s third consecutive league medal for both XC and track and field so well done Holly. Rachel and Olivia also finished very strongly both finishing in top 15. Strong running from the under 11 girls who run in The National Finals in two weeks. Good luck girls.

Under 12: Sean O’Riagain and James Neary were representing the Under 12s. Both had great runs in wet and soft conditions. Sean finished 5th and James Neary was just outside top 10 in 11th. Sean’s performance should also guarantee him a Dublin XC League Medal for his performances across all leagues.

Under 13 and Under 14: Finally, it was up the O’Brien brothers – Robert and James ( Under 13 and Under 14) to finish the morning strongly for Blackrock. Robert came in 7th in his under 13 group and James came in 6th. James performance should also guarantee him a Dublin XC League Medal for his performances across all leagues.

Under 17: Oisin Kelly was in fine form as he won the U17 3K race. Well done to Oisin.
