Santry played host to the East Leinster T&F qualifiers over the last two days. The competition attracted large crowds on both days with weather conditions bordering on Baltic at stages!! Well done to all involved and a summary below:

Minor Girls & Boys Day 1/2: Congratulations to Emma O’Brien (Mount Anville/80m) and Ellen Cheung (Mount Anville/500m) on securing individual titles on Wednesday. We also had strong performances from Rachel Walshe (St Andrews/ 80m final 5th) and Evan Walshe (St Benildus/ 6th) in the Long Jump. Our newest recruit, Jordan Mynes (Oatlands), was leading the hurdles and was very unlucky when colliding on the last hurdle took him out of the Top 3 but made up for it by winning the 800m B race in the Minor category. Alan Casey (Oatlands) also had a steady run in the Minor boys 800m.

Junior Girls/ Boys Day 1/2: Congratulations to Kristina O’Connor (Loreto Dalkey) who took an impressive Gold in the 200m and a bronze in the 100m whilst Pappy Tucker (St Michaels) was a very strong 5th place in the 100m final and followed this up with a third place in the 800m before helping the St Michaels relay team to an impressive gold in the 4 x 100m relay. Beth Sweeney (Sion Hill) finished with a Bronze in the 200m. Will Hickey (St Michaels) took a first ever Bronze for the club in the Hammer event!! Cianan Martin anchored St Michaels to victory in the 4 x 100m B Junior final and there were also strong performances from Lina Kyne (Rathdown 4th in 1500m), Claire Doyle (Mt Anville), Anan Dignam (Mt Anville/ top 3 in 200m B Race), Luke Pierce (Blackrock College), Jack Moraghan (Clonkeen College) Aoife Cunningham (Sion Hill), Ellie Fitzgerald (Muckross), Mia Leahy (Loreto Foxrock), Isabelle Crimmins (Mt Anville) and Cailtlin Kelly (St Raphaela’s)
