Well done to our athletes who competed very well earlier today at AIT. Once again there were some outstanding performances and plenty of records on show from the cream of the crop at underage level in Ireland.
Emma O’Brien narrowly missed out on a Bronze medal in the U12 60m with a fine 4th place finish and a PB in the process. It rounds off a great few weeks for Emma as she continues her great progress over this distance.
Kristina O’Connor and Robyn O’Brien also had fine races and both did very well do qualify for their respective U13/15 finals finishing in 6th and 8th place respectively.
Tommy O’Brien clocked a great time but narrowly missed out by .02 sec in the Boys U17 60m and Pappy Tucker also put in a great run with a PB in a very competitive boys U13 60m category. In the middle distance, Evan Walshe had a fine run in a very tactical boys U13 600m race and continues his return to form over this distance.
Congratulations to all six athletes on their performances and fine representation on behalf of the club. Participating at this level has you in the top 15 athletes in your individual disciplines in the country which is a great achievement. Finally a speedy recovery to Ellen Cheung who suffered a minor leg injury and couldn’t make the journey to participate today.
Next up is the relays on Saturday next where we will have five teams participating in the Girls U12, 13, 14 & 15 and the boys in the U13.
