Healy signs off 2017 in spectacular fashion @ WIT

The All Ireland XC championships/ Uneven age groups took place in Waterford IT over the weekend and once again we had both Team and individual representation.

Pride of place went to Sarah Healy who was a stand out winner in the U17 girls 4000m.

The day started with our girls U11 taking on the very challenging 1500m loop. Holly O’Brien led the Blackrock team home with a great run finishing in 22nd place and was followed by Rachel O’Brien, Abbie O’Connor, Elsa Mooney, Olivia Gaughran and Julia White.

Holly’s performances earned her County Gold and Provincial Silver Team Medals with the Dublin squad.

Next up were the boys U13 squad who once again had a fine outing. Robert O’Brien led the team home followed by Luke Fitzgerald, James Neary and Oscar Canavan. Well done to the lads who have gained some great experience in Abbotstown and Waterford.

In the girls U17 4000m, Sarah Healy put on a superb display of front running in difficult conditions, winning out comfortably. It was Sarah’s seventh consecutive Club title and rounded off a very special year with her European title in Gyor back in the summer. Well done to Sarah.

Last up was Oisin Kelly, who was taking part in the U17 boys 5000m. Oisin broke away mid race with the leading pack and finished in an excellent 12th place picking up an individual medal for his efforts. He was also the third scoring athlete on the Dublin squad who picked up Gold in the County and Silver in the Provincial Team comps. Well done to Oisin.
