Club update: Leinster Schools title for Sarah as BAC athletes perform well in Santry

Congratulations to our athletes who competed in the Leinster Secondary Schools XC Championship earlier today at Santry.

In “true” Cross Country conditions, Sarah Healy (Holy Child Killiney) took the Minor race when leading from the front and making light of the very difficult underfoot conditions with a commanding performance. Behind her, Natasha Twomey (Mount Anville) was running a stormer to finish in second place with Anna Daly (Holy Child Killiney) putting in another great performance to finish in 10th position. Julie Ringrose, Jennifer O’Brien and Isabelle McCarthy (All Mount Anville) also ran fine races. Well done to Mount Anville on their first place in the team event with Holy Child finishing in third place. Well done to all the girls and Sarah on another fine outing.

Padraig Purcell (Colaiste Eoin) was our sole participant in the Boys Minor 2000m and had a fine 5th place finish in what was a very competitive race. Padraig also led Colaiste Eoin to to a top three finish in the team event.

Mark Dignam helped Blackrock College to a top three team finish in the boys Intermediate race.

Well done to all of you who will go on to represent your schools in the All Ireland’s in CIT on March 8th.
