A long season for our Juvenile athletes came to a close over the weekend with four athletes competing for the club at Day 2/3 of the All Irelands in Tullamore.
On Saturday, Evan Walshe bagged his first individual medal at National Level with a fine third place finish in the Boys U15 Walk. This is a great reward for Evan who has been an integral part of the Club over the last five years. Congratulations on a great performance. Robert O’Brien was competing in the U12 60m and put in a very solid performance, and but for some technical issues with his blocks, he would have qualified out of the heats. Well done Robert on your first taste of National competition.
On Sunday, AmyRose Farrell was back on the track after the gritty performance in the Internationals in Kent the previous week, and whilst slightly disappointed with her third place in the girls U17 1500m, it closes out a great year for her. Jordan Mynes (fresh from a top 3 the previous week in the 800m) finished fifth in the boys U14 1500m and has had two great performances over the last few weekends.
Well done to all four athletes on their performances. Enjoy the well deserved break.
