The Club Committee would like to thank our Outgoing Chair Peter Cosgrove for his tireless work and boundless energy during his tenure as Club Chairman.

Peter took on the Chairman’s role in 2013 and immediately impressed with his enthusiasm, communication skills and professional demeanour and one of his greatest strengths was to listen and seek out advice in doing what was in the best interests of the club. His support to his fellow Committee Members and Coaches has been unwavering during this time.

Peter has overseen the rejuvenation of the Club both within the local community and beyond and it was his foresight and ability to integrate the various groups in to one single entity that has laid the platform for the vibrant and social organisation that exists today. During this time, Peter also forged strong partnerships with other local sporting and public agencies which included his work with DLRCC in developing and improving the facilities at Carysfort Park.  In short Peter has been a great Ambassador, Champion and Supporter of all aspects of Blackrock A.C. 

The Committee would also like to congratulate Barry Thornton on his appointment as Club Chairman at the AGM. Barry has been involved with Blackrock A.C. in a Coaching and Athlete capacity over the last four years. We wish him every success in his new role and our continuous support across all facets of the Club’s day to day activities.
