Blackrock A.C. welcomes raising numbers at training – Weekly Round-Up

Blackrock A.C. welcomes raising numbers at training with numbers being particularly good this week. We would like to thank to everyone for coming along and hope to see more back to training again soon, even for one day a week. We have a group and a pace for everyone!

News

  • Brian Lenihan had an excellent 71:24 in the Larne (Antrim Coast) half marathon.
  • Gráinne Grennan completed the Donegal half in in 01:45:49 while her son Mark also finished in 01:12:35.
  • Former member Sarah Healy broke Sonia O’Sullivan’s 1990 Irish U23 record for 3,000m with a brilliant 8:52.
  • The 20th September promises to be a very important date for runners as restrictions will be lifted on outdoor events allowing for a lot more races to proceed; while the restricted training-pods-of-15 will also go. Hopefully this will allow Parkrun to recommence as normal soon; many Parkruns will be starting on 11th September but those in/around Dublin will have to wait a little longer.

Well done to everyone who took part in the Virtual runs this week with 28 participants and many fine times. We had many people doing best times in the 16km this week, well done! If there are any errors please let us know. Other results can be submitted any time. Week 10 finishes this week and if there is sufficient demand , we will keep it going. An alternative option is to change to 10km only. All feedback welcome!
