This week we are happy to announce the return of our weekly 8km run with a 16km virtual weekly run included, all details and results of the first week of the challenge are below.
Thanks to everyone who co-operated with training and HSE requirements at training last week. Anyone who had not completed the Covid-19 survey can do so by following the link sent out via email. If anyone is not feeling well in any way or injured you should not come to training. The current requirements will remain in place until further notice. Hope to see some new faces at training this week and as usual, everyone is welcome. If you have not signed up for 2021 membership, you can do so here.

Blackrock A.C. virtual 8km (and 16km)
Following some requests, we are happy to announce the return of our weekly 8km run this week with a 16km virtual weekly run included.
Event: 8km and 16km Virtual Challenge to take place each week during July to early September
When: Monday to Sunday each week (June 28th to September 5)
Who: Male and Female – Club members and potential members
Time: Any time over the whole day. Log result by 10pm on Sunday
Event: Complete 8km (5 miles) or 16km (10miles) – walk or run
Venue: Anywhere in the County. Avoid routes at busy times
Rules: HSE Guidance on social distancing to be followed at all times
Results: Weekly results will be emailed as part of weekly email, you can log your times HERE.

Upcoming Events
The latest news from the government on reopening has a glimmer of hope for races, as events will now be able to have up to 200 participants or 500 if the capacity is >5,000. Check out MyRunResults for all real races coming up soon.
The Dublin race series virtual events is recommended over the next few months. Check out http://kbcdublinmarathon.ie/ for full details – (Dublin Virtual Race Series 10k on 17/18 July, 10mile on 21/22 August, Half on 18/19 September and full marathon on 23-25 October). We are hoping to plan a trip to Phoenix Park for the 10miler and Half marathon if anyone is interested. If anyone is looking for a race, please let Gary know.

Wednesday intervals
As a survey earlier in the year showed there was interest of holding intervals on a Wednesday evening (day 800m or 1k intervals in Carysfort Park at 6pm). If you are still interested, please let Gary know as we require sufficient interest to go ahead.
