SIAB’s XC International

SIAB’s XC International

Earlier today Sarah Healy (Holy Child) and AmyRose Farrell (Mount Anville) got their first taste of International action at Santry Demense. Both athletes were in the girls Junior race and performed very well on their debuts. The pace was set right from the gun with the English athletes taking up the challenge over 3000m. The girls adjusted well to the early pace and a gallant effort by Sarah Healy to reel in the leading group came up just short having to settle for fourth place and first Irish athlete home. AmyRose Farrell was also in the thick of it in the early stages and put in a great performance to finish in a strong 16th position and the fourth scoring Irish athlete. The team finished in third place behind the very impressive English squad and just pipped by the Scottish team for second place. Sarah’s efforts were rewarded with a sizeable PB of 9.58 and a great experience for our Junior Schools champion whilst AmyRose also improved on her previous best time and continues to improve with every performance. Well done again on a great day for both girls.
