In difficult conditions and on a very testing course, our Even age groups took part at the Dublin Championships earlier today. We had some fine performances with Sarah Healy dominating the U14 3000m and we also picked up two team titles in the girls U10 and Girls U14.
Girls/ Boys U10:
A very strong showing by our girls squad who packed well and were led home by Hannah O’Brien and Ella Cowman finishing in the top 10. They were ably supported by Sophie Maher, Amelie Cafferky and Ella Bolger. A fantastic result for the team and thoroughly deserved.
The boys also showed up well and had some fine runs but narrowly missed out on a Top 3 team finish. The team was: Max Mason, Tim O’Sullivan, Luke Fitzgerald, Andrew Quinn and Matthew Slevin.
Girls/ Boys U14:
The boys team put in a very strong performance and packed well to again narrowly miss out on a top 3 finish. Evan Walshe had a fine run and he was ably supported by Oisin Kelly, Luke Reynolds and Dexter Finegan.
Our girls squad were gearing up for this one from early September and showed great spirit and determination over 3000m. Sarah’s victory was complimented by fine runs from Lara Gillespie (2nd), Julie Ringrose (6th), Lina Kyne (9th) with Claire Dolye (16th) and Jennifer O’Brien (19th) ensuring that the team took a well deserved first place. Sarah Flaherty and Aoife Linane were both running up a year and put in fine showings.
