Girls & Boys U11:

For the under 11’s we had 19 children involved.  Many were competing for the for their first time, and all represented the club really well and really enjoyed the day.

In the sprints Shane and Matthew won a bronze medal.  Ella, who was recovering from being sick all week, and Hannah were very close to a medal.  Great performances also from Siobhan, Amelie, James, Justin, Conn, Robert, Max (our last minute sub) and Niall.

In 600m, Hannah and Sophie did really well, finishing near the front of their races.  Luke and Robert also both did well in their races and were close to getting a medal.  Other good runs at this tough distance from Amelie, Ella, Andrew and Niall.

In Javelin, Ciara and Robyn won gold, retaining their title from last year.  Luke and James, competing for the first time in javelin, were told they came second and were then given bronze medals – either way a great performance!  Caoimhe and Emily also did well, also both competing for the first time.

In the long jump, Shane and Matthew won a silver medal with great jumps.  Good jumps also from Conn, Justin, Max, Justin, Andrew, Sophie, Ciara, Robyn and Siobhan.  Many did this for the first time and showed their potential.

We had four relay teams this year.  Shane, Matthew, Robert and James were in fourth place in a photo finish for bronze. We had two new member on the team (James and Robert) so a good performance and great potential there. Ella, Hannah, Amelie and Sophie came close to qualifying for the final.  The other two teams – Caoimhe, Ciara, Emily and Siobhan plus Niall, Justin, Conn and Luke also did well – good baton changing on display!

Well done to all!
