Blackrock A.C. are looking for volunteers to get involved with the club and fill both Committee and Non-Committee based roles. More details can be found below.
A good number of Blackrock A.C. members exchanged the weekly Cabinteely for St Anne’s Parkrun this week, not only running some fantastic times, but also joining the Clontarf running group for their post Parkrun training.
A special mention to Ted who has achieved a new PB of 17:55 in St Anne’s.
Run the Line
Blackrock A.C. took on the Dublin Mountains last weekend, joining ‘Run the Line’ (13km and 26km), a fundraising event for Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team.
Well done to James, Jamie, Rob, Ger, Mark, Ray, David Graham and David Martin.
Well done to James and Roisin who completed the Moonlight Challenge in Wicklow last weekend, hiking 6:37 hours under the full moon.
The Moonlight Challenge is the main fundraising event for the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and follows a 22 kilometer route starting and finishing in Laragh village.

Blackrock A.C. Tip of the week
For runners seeking peak performance, the ideal is to determine within a tenth of a mile, if possible, the weekly mileage at which your body self-destructs. Then you can train to the edge of disaster, staying safe, but occasionally pushing over that edge to determine whether months and years of steady training (or a new pair of shoes) have allowed you to nudge your breaking point to a new level. And to permit you to train just under that point and run faster in your next race.Hal Higdom
