Parkrun
Congratulations to Paul who ran his fastest ever 5km (24:31) in Poolbeg. More fast times also by Carmel and Patricia, their best parkrun times in 2021. We also had a good turnout in Cabinteely with Ted acting as Run Director and PBs by Sean O’Riagain (19:22) and Elaine MaAree (32:21).

Turkey Trot
The last juvenile training session will be held on Thursday 16th December in St. Andrews. Our prize-giving ceremony will take place on Sunday 19th December at 10am in Carysfort Park. We encourage all athletes, parents, coaches and volunteers to wear something festive.

Blackrock A.C. Tip of the week
Do you want to run faster? The key to improvement is consistency. More than any fancy training schedule featuring intervals, tempo runs or hill repeats. Just run day after day, week after week, year after year at a level where you do not become injured.

As with any exercise, when you first start running, building habit is important. Your initial focus should be getting into the habit of running and making a run part of each weekly plan.

Training Reminder
Training continues as normal this week and great to see good numbers at each session. Members are required to wear a high viz vest from now on at training.
Anyone who had not completed the Covid-19 survey can do so at the following link (Covid19 form link). If anyone is not feeling well in any way or injured you should not come to training. For those currently on trial, if you want to join the club and become a member you can register now. Membership prices are reduced as it is past August.
