Blackrock Virtual Relay 10k

This weekend we are looking forward to the Blackrock Virtual Relay 10k. All adult sections are represented with Fit4Life, Men and Women’s members taking part.

The event is open all weekend up until Sunday evening. Team captains Aideen Sheehan, Dermot Hughes, Ger O’Toole, Hugh Hunt, Patricia Forde, Susan Spain and Victoria O’Mahony mean there’ll be no prisoners. Be sure to give your fellow members a cheer if you see them!

The Supercomputer at Blackrock Athletic Club Towers has fired up its highly sophisticated algorithm and has selected the teams for this weekend’s virtual relay race. All teams should be competitive, theoretically, your aggregate times should all be within a couple of minutes of each other. This is anyone’s folks.

The team names are inspired by the ‘Seven Summits‘ (as defined by legendary mountaineer Reinhold Messner).

A reminder of the concept:

• A ‘virtual’ (but unofficial, fun) relay race between mixed teams of BAC members, any time this weekend
• Each team member runs their own (10k) leg individually, obeying all necessary COVID related rules (if you have any questions about what these are please let me know – but should be pretty obvious to all by now!)
• Please record your own 10k time and submit it to your Team Captain afterwards
• Team Captains: please send the results from your team to me by Sunday evening, the sooner the better so I can get the results out!
