Blackrock A.C. weekend in Waterford – June Highlights

Coming into the summer you might be forgiven for taking a rest. However, June has proven to be a very busy month for our members with so many great activities taking place across Ireland – and the world. Below are some of the highlights of June 2022.

Highlight of the Month: Club weekend in Waterford – Viking Half Marathon

Waterford was the setting for the 2022 Fit4life away trip with 15 people taking part in the quarter, half and full marathons. Despite heavy rain overnight, the day was perfect for running with only a small bit of rain during the event. All the races started at 9am in the city centre and each route headed towards the lovely scenic Waterford Greenway. There were some fine runs on the days with a number of pbs and despite some niggles, everyone finished. We had three podium finishes on the day. Ger was 1st M50, Patricia was 2nd F55 and Carmel was 3rd F55. Congratulations everyone.
