There were some great performances among Blackrock A.C. Juveniles and Juniors in Tallaght on Thursday 15, Friday 16 and Saturday 17 July. Below in this article are a selection of photos from the events and you can see more on our Facebook page embedded here also.

Thursday Blackrock A.C. Juveniles
Thursday night in Tallaght saw Alex and Mealla competing in their first-ever high jump competition. Alex jumped 118cm to take the silver and Mealla cleared 110cm finishing in 5th place. Super jumping girls.
On Thursday night in Tallaght, Aela threw the javelin 13.74m to take gold in the U13 girls’ javelin, with Laragh finishing second with a throw of 12.02. Well done girls.
Friday Blackrock A.C Juveniles
Friday was great for Blackrock A.C. Juveniles. For the u10s, on Friday night, we had 5 competing in the 500m. Our two girls Isla and Doireann ran in the same, fast heat and finished 8th (Isla) and 9th (Doireann) with both breaking their PBs and dipping below the 2-minute mark.
For the boys, we had Josh Hunt, Max and Oisin competing. Josh won his heat and, with a fastest time, over the two heats of 1 min 34 sec, was able to secure gold overall.
Running in the same heat Max finished in 8th place with a PB time of 1 min 59 sec. Oisin ran in the second boys’ heat, finishing in 7th place and rounding off a night of PBs with a time of 2 min 01 sec.
Saturday Blackrock Junior and Juveniles
Very competitive U11s 600m with Blackrock A.C. doing very well. In the girls’ race Robyn came 2nd in a very fast and tight heat to take silver overall. Isabelle won her heat in real style to take bronze overall. Sian and Grace both finished strongly in the third heat. In the boys, Fabio ran a strong race to come 3rd in his heat and the sweltering heat! Well done to all.
Well done to all the U12 Long jumpers, Amelia, Ruby and Sofia. Amelia placed 4th in the final.
Robert won silver in the U16 long jump, Phillip won gold in U15 long jump and Daniel won bronze. Alex won silver in the U14 long jump with Emily making it through to the final.
All our girls performed very well in the U14 Javelin, Emily, Grainne and Hannah. Hannah coming in 4th.
This Weekend
This weekend is the Juvenile Pairs event, U9/U10/U11s. Then that is the end of the Dublin Championships.
Blackrock A.C. now has 20 who have qualified to go through to the National Championships in August.
