The Brother Schools XC competition at Santry provided the perfect platform for the last of our XC squad members to get some much needed race day competition in advance of the Dublin Even Championships on Sunday October 19th.
In typical XC conditions, Santry played host to over 1400 athletes.
Sarah O’Brien and Natasha Rolland (both Mount Anville) had fine outings in the Primary schools race/
In the minor girls race Claire Doyle (Mount Anville) and Lina Kyne (Rathdown) came in just outside the top 10 with Anna Dignam (Mount Anville) also running well.
Patrick Tucker (St Michaels) was our sole representative in the Minor boys race and had a fine second place finish over 1500m.
Reigning All Ireland Champion Sarah Healy/ 1st (Holy Child Killiney) and AmyRose Farrell/ 2nd (Mount Anville) had a fine tussle in the girls Junior 2000m with Julie Ringrose (Mount Anville) running well in 7th position. Emma Patterson also competed for HCK whilst AmyRose & Julie were joined by Sarah O’Dea, Jennifer O’Brien and Isabelle McCarthy as part of the Mount Anville team who won the girls Junior team event.
